LMAO, love that threat. You might cry if I told you just how lacking my meat-cooking expertise was as a newlywed. Boiling was the first step to half my meals. I actually cringe just thinking about it now!

These look awesome. I'm not a huge fan of wings myself, but I LOVE the flavor. I might have to try this rub on some bigger pieces of chicken soon. (Am I missing something by not loving wings? Serious question. I just hate that there is little meat and a lot of work to get to it. Is the wing meat actually tastier?)

Isn't that weird, I actually can remember my first "wing". About 25 years ago, we were sitting on the curb outside a wing joint which was located in a cruddy little strip mall in North Denver. We were eating our box of hot wings (we ordered medium sauce) ... some sauce dripped on the pavement and I was tempted to lick it up it was so good.

I had my first chicken wings in Buffalo, NY in 1970 on a road trip right after my wedding. We drove all over the east coast to visit friends and family unable to attend the ceremony. One of my husband's college buddies was playing for the Buffalo Bills. He and his wife took us to dinner at a restaurant where many of the players and their families ate. I sat with the wives at one end of the table. The players and my husband sat at the other. We were served a tasty appetizer of spicy chicken wings with celery sticks, carrots, and a blue cheese dip, a specialty of the restaurant. I said something about how good the wings tasted. Paul Maguire, the Buffalo punter, now a TV color commentator, basically said they were better than sex [my words] and assured me they would soon become a nationwide phenomenon. I guess so.

I just finished breakfast, but your last shot still has me craving wings. I cannot remember my first ones but I really like them. It's amazing how restaurant fajitas and Buffalo wings have radically changed the availability and price of skirt steak and wings - the Chicken City guy said they used to throw them away.
