This is as close to a "cookie post" that you will ever see on Nibble Me This. I made
DivaQ's Chocolate Pig Candy Pretzels (click for full recipe). It's made of pretzels, chocolate and crumbled candied bacon. Yeah, I know....right?

Sweet, salty, and a bit smoky too. |

Made my pig candy on my Green Egg. |
 |
Improvised double broiler. |
 |
Dipped in chocolate, sprinkled with crumbled pig candy, chilled in fridge, dusted with powdered sugar. |
We packaged these in foil cups and red straw inside of a clear plastic goody bag to give as gifts to co-workers, neighbors, etc.

ReplyDeleteI feel like I'm the only blogger around who has yet to try the chocolate bacon combo! these look really fun!
ReplyDeleteYou know how to get my sweet tooth raging! Adding bacon into the mix means I can eat these for breakfast, right?
ReplyDeleteWow, I'd love if somebody gave me a bag of this stuff...yum :)
ReplyDeleteI've considered making pig candy, but I just can't bring myself to put sugar on my favorite meat. These babies are creative and it would be hard to resist bacon together with chocolate - my favorite sweet, so I'm sure I could scarf down a couple.
ReplyDeleteLove DivaQ! And, I'm sorry, you just can never go wrong with pig candy :)
ReplyDeleteMy mom is such a pretzel fanatic. I think I'd win favorite daughter of the century status if I made these for her!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this idea. I was trying to think of something different for the holidays. It was like a DUH moment to see them and I wish I could eat the screen right now!
ReplyDeleteTry making the Pig candy with Chili Powder and fine crushed pecans too. talk about Good mixed in with that Chocolate.
ReplyDeleteYou could totally make my day with a gift bag of these! YUMMMMMMM

On another note, thanks for a year of great reads - while I haven't graduated beyond my gas grill, I have learned quite a bit from you and your enviable skills...I've also gained a solid ten pounds that I can attribute directly to your recipes...for which I'll forgive you for, as long as the New Year is filled with even more delectable dishes. Merry Christmas! Nan
