The Reason I Grill

I won't bore you with the details but I have had a very trying week at work and home this week. But for just about 30 minutes tonight, none of it mattered.

I was grilling burgers for the family. The temperatures were warm, the smoke was billowing out of the Egg (thick smoke while smoking, bad. thick smoke while grilling, fine). The sun was crawling behind the trees.

A moment of quiet peace.

I'm trying a new recipe tomorrow night, but this was a moment in time.

Sorry bout the rough week. Hope the burgers were good and look forward to the new experiment.

  8. Everybody needs a place and space when they are "in the zone". That's how I feel when I've got plain white paper and drawing pens -- nothing else matters.

  15. Perfect! I've been missing in blogville lately and didn't even know about the bad weather over your way. I hope everything is ok. The tree in the previous entry is small stuff in the grand scheme of things. Hope you are able to find some more of these perfect moments over the weekend Chris. *hugs*
