I was grilling burgers for the family. The temperatures were warm, the smoke was billowing out of the Egg (thick smoke while smoking, bad. thick smoke while grilling, fine). The sun was crawling behind the trees.

I'm trying a new recipe tomorrow night, but this was a moment in time.
It is a great thing, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI could almost feel the calmness and beauty of the moments:)
ReplyDeleteA haiku, for your Zen like moment:

Zoned Out
Grilling Meat In Springtime Moment
Sorry bout the rough week. Hope the burgers were good and look forward to the new experiment.
Chris, we could all use more beautiful moments like this.

kudos, man. that's exactly why I cook! the more meditative spaces in our lives, the better!
ReplyDeleteLove it, Chrs. Everyone needs a happy place and you have certainly found yours!
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to find peace in your day, if only for a minute or two.
ReplyDeleteEverybody needs a place and space when they are "in the zone". That's how I feel when I've got plain white paper and drawing pens -- nothing else matters.
ReplyDeleteI feel ya Chris, we had some perfect evening lately and being outside with the fantastic aromas coming off the grill...heaven!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your tough week, but it's good that you have a way to relax!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I know that feeling. Beats medication any day.
ReplyDeleteI can almost hear the cicadas :)
ReplyDeleteCouldn't have said it better myself. Great pic!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice photo! I like your egg, (grill envy here).
ReplyDeletePerfect! I've been missing in blogville lately and didn't even know about the bad weather over your way. I hope everything is ok. The tree in the previous entry is small stuff in the grand scheme of things. Hope you are able to find some more of these perfect moments over the weekend Chris. *hugs*
ReplyDeleteI was about to send out search and rescue. Wondered why you had been so quiet. Great little post and great photo. Enjoy your relaxing weekend.
ReplyDeletelife at its best! GREG
ReplyDeleteYep, that pretty well sums it up for me too...
ReplyDeleteI can almost smell the wonders coming from the Egg. Lovely photo, and very calming.
ReplyDeleteGreat post. I had a tough week last week too and cooking always seems to calm me.
